No one said treks were just for men. Well, on record, yes, but off record, many.
The post was about one of Chhattisgarh’s most challenging treks, from an Instagram page, and what I did wrong was to share my experience in the comment section of that post. I wrote about my visit and how difficult yet beautiful the trek was. A very proud moment shattered soon after, when a comment said, “Impossible, girls cannot go there.” A girl from the same place on the trek backed me up by saying that we had been there; it was difficult, as we agreed, but not impossible. offended by the comments, we both became unknowingly united by our feminist fire.
To every other guy who would say, You cannot reach here, this is me watching Ganesha with pride because no one knows me better than him. To every other girl who, after reading those comments, lost courage, imagine the freedom and pride you feel when you reach here.
